Welcome Back Bess Bullock
When I finished writing Suspicions at Sunset, the fifth book in the Bess Bullock series, I really thought I closed the door on this character. I had no other ideas to explore. Then, last summer, inspiration struck.
A retirement home, not far from my house, was changing its name. Over the course of a year, it had changed the street names, the appearance of some of the buildings and then came the final step of changing the name of the home.
It got me thinking about how we define our homes. Is a home just a roof with a few walls? Is it defined by a name, by its appearance, or is there something more how we think of our homes? It was an interesting concept I wanted to explore. It was also a perfect storyline for Bess Bullock to jump into with a new book, Discreet in the Heat.
I've been pleased at how this book series has enjoyed tremendous success over the years. And so I'm very happy to bring this character back one more time for readers to enjoy.
Now, back to working on the next installment of the Dupree Sisters Mystery Series. I can promise fans of Ruth and Charlotte another murder mystery set in the heart of Washington D.C.
